Sharon holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Huston-Tillotson College in Austin, TX. She furthered her education in Military Science Transportation at the University of Texas at Austin and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. Sharon served two years on active duty and 12 years in the Army Reserve. During her time as a Captain in the Army Reserve, she trained cadets at The University of Toledo. She also pursued a Master’s in Human Resources Education Technology at The University of Toledo and the University of Iowa and studied Architectural Technology at the University of Dallas.

Currently, Sharon is the sole proprietor of Potere Construction LLC, located in Fort Worth, TX. Her responsibilities include managing company operations, building customer relations, bidding, proposal writing, contract reviews, budgeting, project management, personnel management, and training.

Sharon has garnered multiple accolades, including the Luna Established Construction Firm Award, Luna Rising Star Firm, Black Chamber Business Woman of the Year Engle Award, NCTRCA Outstanding DBE of the Year, Regional Black Contractor's Business of the Year Award, and the Texas Governor’s Award 2018. Despite numerous awards, her proudest achievement is guiding her company's evolution from a construction cleaning firm to a General Contractpr and self performing heavy highway concrete company, marked by significant experience and financial growth.
